Fun question, how many words do you write in a day?

I noticed there’s a promotion for the NaNoWriMo competition in the Blogs section. You have to write 50,000 words in a month, an average of 1666 words a day.

Good luck to those who enter.

What’s the most words you have written in a day, or in a month?

Graham Greene’s tip is to write 300 words a day.

That's 2100 a week, 109,200 a year.

Enough for a novel and the beginning of book two.

Setting a target is counter productive. If you try for 500, reach 420 all you will do is add another 80 words which you will then edit out.

Quantity is of no relevance (NaNoWriMo entrants excepted)

Quality however is vital

Attempting the first will almost certainly end with failing the second.

I write anywhere between 100 - 1000 words a day, It really does depend on how I feel. Some days I feel a lot more creative than others.
