Hello, everyone! As you know this – can be or not – one of the most difficult questions that can appear during planning process and I did want know what's your opinion about it because I'm having troubles with it.

I always look at whom I am writing about then pick the name... a school boy that is a nice lad to know would be Harry, Theo, or James but a boy who is up to no good maybe Alfie or Dennis.

Good luck.

Have a look on some baby naming websites - they tell you spelling variations and name meanings. Sometimes it's really helpful if you can't think of one yourself!

My tip is to choose a christian name or surname that indicates what the character is like.

For example in Great Expectations there's Miss Haversham / Have-a-Sham

In Tess of the Durbervilles, there's Alec Durberville / D urb E r VIL e = DEVIL

An example of both names in Far From the Madding Crowd, there's Gabriel Oak / Strong religious character.

I hope that helps.

Good luck.
