How chose the name and surname your main character?

Hello, everyone! As you know this – can be or not – one of the most difficult questions that can appear during planning process and I did want know what's your opinion about it because I'm having troubles with it.

All depends on the 'genre' and era - that is, are we writing about 'historical characters' or present day ones? It also depends on the nationality of your character/s and of course their ethnic origin. Just choose a name you think 'fits the person' you are writing about. Look at the age of the character - if it is a story set in the present day; then think about the type of reader: age, gender you are hoping will enjoy your novel/story. Choose a name that they will either relate to or, remember. If all else fails - have a quick look through the phone book - you are bound to find some interesting surnames! Good luck. Incidentally, you have a very unique name!
