i got some of it back from this site, but the more detailed scrips are now lost completely.... my 2 best mates are literally experts in the field - that laptop is ruined
Don't give up too soon. Are you absolutely sure your work is not retrievable? How much is there and has any of it been sent to magazines or discussion boards eg a chapter on this site?
I was missing 3 months' worth of files when I changed computers and the old machine suddenly shut down. (I think it was jealous when I moved to Apple!) But my son managed to restore my data. I don't know how he did it, I'm just grateful he could.
My advice: get someone who really knows about computers to have a look at yours before you write your work off as lost for ever. Best of luck!
Use Dropbox to backup your work, then it is available should anything happen to your pc.
