When should I end a chapter?

I am writing the first chapter of a potential novel.

Unfortunately it seems most awfully finished, but quite short still. I will of course go back and touch up on it. But it is only 2 pages and 3 lines long. How does one extend their writing?

Will do Damien, and thanks!

And Kathleen, I can see what you're saying about the mental block, I may take the approach of writing huge sections, or even when I get an idea, then work on it, perfect it. And once I am happy, then start splitting it off. I just think the idea of having chapters, and sustenance to my work will make me think, I've got this far so I shouldn't give up yet!

And again Damien, don't be too hasty to throw the cheese away. But less on that, you must all wait for the answer which cheese brings.
