When should I end a chapter?

I am writing the first chapter of a potential novel.

Unfortunately it seems most awfully finished, but quite short still. I will of course go back and touch up on it. But it is only 2 pages and 3 lines long. How does one extend their writing?

Looks hopefully can be anything, it's the behaviors that matter. Everything will start to become more apparent later, and of course at the end.

I may work on descriptions soon, but I'm having a little rest to let my creative mind get some ideas, and to draw up on the characters looks.

If you don't mind me butting in(!!) I don't really have much of an image of the parents at the moment, which is why I suggested some more descriptions although if you have plans then maybe focus purely on the look of the characters rather than their behaviour (unless looks are part of your plan!). This will evoke a good image in the readers mind and will help them to understand more of what you are saying.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense!

Sorry Damien :(

I'm just wondering - how are you picturing the parents at the moment, because part of my secret plans for the novel do involve your perception of characters?

And thanks
