Hi All,
I thought it would be a fun idea to start a community writing project here in the forum. All you have to do is think of the next sentence to follow the story. It can be any length of a sentence and can take any genre you like.
I'll start.

On a cold and windy evening the owl perched on the branch was his only friend.
Hecate's Nightmares were gathering like a black mist, growing in strength as the animals of the forest and glade shivered and stretched into their human forms. NIghtmares have no interest in animals for they feed only on the human subconscious.
The black mist was rapidly descending on the forest below, where they sensed the human shadows moving in larger and larger numbers. In their animal forms, the humans had been safe from them for too long.
Mole could resist for only a little longer. He had to hurry.
Weaving this way and that, dancing around animals who were slowly transforming in to their human forms, Snout raced through the forest. To his left a butterfly became a beautiful fair skinned girl with glowing brown eyes, to his right a stag shimmered with magic. From the magic stepped a ruggedly handsome man holding a longsword in his hand, a scar ran from temple to mouth. Above, the screeches of Hecate's Nightmares broke the silence of morning.
Snout moved fast, the magic would soon touch him. Lerajie must hear his message before the human form took him. Once the battle began there would be no looking back.
The tree's felt the awakening. Branches stretched and creaked, filling the air, ringing out with joy, for their queen, Lylona, had at last returned.
Deep under the roots of the great oak tree, where the whispers of magic and calls to battle failed to reach, lay Snout, the mole.
Lylona had other plans for him. She spoke quietly for only him to hear.
Snout stirred, hearing the faint whisper of the enchantress. What she asked of him would mean treason, Moonstripe was his king and although in his previous life he was but a messenger, he felt uneasy over the task she had delivered to him.
Deep in the sett, Lylona prayed that Snout would take her message to Lerajie, for without him, the battle would surely be lost.
