A favourite place to write?

Does anyone have a favourite place to write? As well as writing at home, I used to go to a local village cafe every Thursday and treat myself to a coffee and some lunch at the same time as writing for a couple of hours. I really looked forward to it and got some good pieces of wrting done (in my opinion) - but then they decided to put the background music up and I found I couldnt hear myself think. Now I just write at home but may venture out to a local pub for a non alcoholic beverage and lunch and see what that brings.

My favourite place is a cafe near my house, where I've writen most of my work.

But generally I like to write in the cafe, surrounded by lots of people, with music playing in the background, or at work, with the phones ringing and people talking. Always with my music player's headphones blaring in my ears. (which means I hear nothing that is happening around me)

Weirdly enough when I write I space out. I am not really there and so I never pay attention to what is going on around me. However, I cannot write in absolute silence and alone. It just drives me crazy, mad, up the wall, and all synonyms and similar expressions :P

I don't know what it is, but I need to feel the lively actions of other people around me when I write. I hate silence, and I hate being in a room (wherever really) all alone and attempt to write anything.

When I need time to think, to figure something out, then I take a break from writing and go for a walk, or even go for a coffee and chat with friends.

Lately, I have hit a bit of a block so haven't been writing very much at all. However, I usually found myself writing the most while on my commute to work.

At home, I write in my living room, on a nice day, I will take the laptop into the garden and sit and write.

I long for a little study where I can write, but am a little way from that yet.
