Writing time

Seeing as writing is a very time consuming and somewhat anti-social occupation how do you make space for it without annoying partners/family? Do you just fit in bits & pieces around everyday life, or do you set aside a regular specific time when you're not to be disturbed and keep to it rigidly?

Working a full time job makes it hard to find time. Would love to spend my days writing from dawn to dusk, But alas I would need a euromillions win to obtain the dream. In the real world I grab time where I can some nights managing an hour. I can sometimes manage four or five hours on a weekend. Hubby is very accepting of the fact that once my head is my laptop he will get nothing more intellectual than a grunt to any questions he may send my way. But he has become an experts at deciphering the noises.

Cup of tea? is hmmmm

This is how I feel too. Writing comes first for me and I'm lucky to have a supportive partner.

I work various shifts with a supermarket, and try to write as much as I can in any spare time, without upsetting the wife.

Normally about 1-2 hours each day if possible

It helps relax me before sleep, letting all my thoughts and ideas out of my head from that day

and ready to refill

Whatever works for you, as we are all different
